Make Your Own Homemade Coffee Liqueur
Homemade coffee liqueur (or homemade version of Kahlúa) is one of our favorite homemade liqueurs to make, and we make a lot of homemade liqueurs every year! Not only is it delicious, it’s also super easy to make year-round and much quicker than some of our other infusions. Which is a good thing, because it makes a great gift and we’re constantly running out of it. If you love coffee and happy hour equally, you’ll love this simple easy recipe.
It takes about a month to finish a batch of homemade coffee liqueur, and the process is simple as can be, using ingredients you probably have at home already. We prefer to use Espresso beans for our liqueur, but any dark & bold coffee will work fine.
Benefits to Making Coffee Liqueur from Scratch
Making homemade coffee liqueur can be a fun and rewarding experience for a few reasons:

How to Serve Your Homemade Coffee Liqueur
We like to sip our homemade coffee liqueur over ice, or with a generous splash of milk or cream to make our own version of a White Russian, but there are a lot of great ways to enjoy your homemade coffee liqueur:
Neat: Simply pour the coffee liqueur into a glass and enjoy it straight up. You can garnish it with a sprig of mint or a twist of orange peel for an extra touch.
On the rocks: Fill a glass with ice and pour the coffee liqueur over it. Sip it slowly and enjoy the rich flavors as the ice melts.
Mixed in cocktails: Coffee liqueur is a versatile ingredient that can be used in many cocktails. For example, you can add it to a White Russian or a Mudslide for a decadent treat. You can also mix it with cream, milk, or other liquors to create your own signature cocktails.
Over ice cream: Drizzle your homemade coffee liqueur over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
Baked goods: You can use coffee liqueur in baking to add a rich, coffee flavor to cakes, brownies, and other desserts. Try adding it to your next chocolate cake recipe for a decadent twist.
